Daffodil
In "Thank You, Elizabeth", Teri Tope has created 24 needle-turn appliqué
blocks based on the designs in an Altar Cloth displayed in a church in
Bacton, England. Daffodil is one of those blocks. The class will
include step-by-step instructions for Teri's needle turn appliqué and
ruched appliqué technique, as well as other useful tips and tricks.
This is as much a technique class as a project class AND you will be the
first to see the completed "Thank You, Elizabeth" quilt.

This workshop demonstrates my layered, hand-applique technique with simple applique shapes using freezer paper templates and liquid starch. The class will cover how I build my pictorial wall quilts and how to get beautiful details by letting the fabric choices do all the work.
Kit/pattern fee: $30
includes pattern, all fabrics needed to complete the block, freezer paper templates, tracing paper, starch, brushes, and more.

Learn how fun and easy reverse needle-turn appliqué by hand can be while you create Whirlwind, Medallion VI (26” x 26”) put out by Eye of the Beholder Quilt Designs. Hand appliqué is a labor of love, but it doesn’t have to be hard or intimidating. Come join the fun and learn my favorite technique for creating your own beautiful hand-stitched medallion. The process I use gives you great control over your piece, allowing you to have sharp points, crisp corners and graceful circles. You will love the results you get and you don’t get hung up on the pins. I will lead you step by step through the process, start to finish, empowering you to do reverse needle-turn appliqué by hand, do it like a pro and enjoy it! Layering and finishing will not be part of the scope of this class, but will be discussed.

Arabesque is a Granny’s Legacy pattern that offers a lot of embellishment opportunities. This is a stunning example of Jacobean design that is once again so popular today. The name Arabesque which is an ornamental design consisting of intertwined flowing lines fits this pattern perfectly. This class will cover basic wool applique as well as a variety of embellishing techniques. Beading, silk ribbon embroidery, working with metallic threads and the application of crystals will also be explored. This table mat could very easily be made to represent the seasons depending on your choice of colors. What a lovey tabletop tree skirt this would be in reds and greens with a touch of sparkle. Come play with Bonnie in this exciting wool class!

Learn how to hand needle-turn appliqué with acclaimed instructor, Teri
Tope, creating your very own Spring Symphony wall hanging. This is both
a design and technique class. You will learn how to cut and position the
petals of these beautiful tulips to get just the right contrast, letting
the fabric do all the work. Teri will lead you through each step of her
process: preparing the pieces, placing and layering the appliques and
finishing with Teri's stress-free methods for needle-turn appliqué.
You'll leave the class with the skills, confidence and inspiration to
add beautiful appliqué to all of your future projects!

Each flower makes a 16” Square that may be a block in a quilt or finished as a pillow to decorate your sofa. You may also choose to stuff your blossoms to add more dimension. Hand applique is a labor of love, but when you trace, baste, snip & stitch, it’s fun and easy.

Rosemary’s Garden from Granny’s Legacy is a beautiful example of all the fun you can have adding embroidery and embellishments to your wool projects. Bonnie will cover basic wool applique along with a large variety of embroidery stitches. Beading, silk ribbon embroidery and working with crystals will be included. This is a great opportunity to play with different threads and fibers you may have been hesitant to try before. Come explore what the world of hand work has to offer while working with wool! For beginners you will have the opportunity to create a stitch journal along the way. Prep is optional.
