Applique Away On Galveston Bay

Beautiful Galveston will be awaiting you for your inspiring winter getaway. Located on Galveston Island, it is a coastal resort town with February temperatures of between 50 and 60 degrees. No snow or ice within hundreds of miles. Besides the 32 miles of beaches, Galveston is home to six historic districts with more than 60 structures listed in the National Registry of Historic Places. Once the home of famous, or infamous, pirates like Louis-Michel Aurz and Jean Laffite, it is stepped in history and lore going back several hundred years. The historic 1900 Hurricane devastated much of the island, but numerous buildings survived and are standing today.
The historic "Strand" is home to the Tremont House. The "Strand" is a 5 block business district of Victorian era buildings. They contain many restaurants, delightful shops, antique stores, art galleries and museums. All within an easy walk from the hotel. You will have a two hour break each day from 12 - 2 for some exploring and delicious dining. The Tremont House is right in the middle.
